Travelling by car or motorcycle offers flexibility and the opportunity to explore the beautiful Tuscany region at your own pace. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to reach the Mugello Circuit by road:
If you're coming from Florence, take the A1 motorway heading toward Bologna. Exit at Barberino di Mugello, which is about 30 km from the city. After the exit, simply follow the road signs directing you to the Mugello Circuit. The journey typically takes around 45 minutes, depending on traffic, and brings you through scenic Tuscan countryside.
If you're travelling from Bologna, take the A1 motorway heading south toward Florence. Exit at Barberino di Mugello and follow the signs toward the circuit. The drive from Bologna to Mugello takes about 1.5 hours.
For those who prefer to avoid motorways and tolls, you can take the Via Bolognese (SR 65), which offers a more scenic route through the Tuscan hills. Although longer (around 1 hour and 15 minutes), it provides a beautiful drive through local towns like Vaglia and San Piero a Sieve before reaching the circuit.
Travellers coming from Pisa can take the Fi-Pi-Li expressway towards Florence, then join the A1 motorway north toward Bologna. Exit at Barberino di Mugello and follow the signs to the circuit. The drive from Pisa takes around 1.5 hours.
The Mugello Circuit offers multiple parking areas, but these can fill up quickly on race days, so arriving early is recommended. For major events like MotoGP, some parking lots offer shuttle services to the circuit.
